Glass bottle by Nuk with a rubber (latex) nipple, a highly elastic and bite-resistant material. Rubber is more easily affected by temperature and the fats in milk and food. Glass bottles are easier to clean and do not retain odours as well as plastic bottles. They are also recyclable and more ecological, but they are heavier and more difficult to transport and also carry the risk of breakage and injury.
How are Bottles Sterilized?
Sterilising the bottle before use is very important, at least until your baby is 6-7 months old and always according to your paediatrician’s guidance. Each bottle, depending on its material and instructions for use, has a specific cleaning procedure. First wash it carefully with warm water and soap, using the special cleaning brushes to remove food debris.
Sterilization can then be done in 2 ways:
– By boiling: immerse all equipment in boiling water for 10 minutes, having previously checked that this method is suitable for your bottle and its accessories
– With an electric sterilizer, always following the manufacturer’s instructions. Some bottles can also be sterilised in a microwave.
