Melatonin is a naturally occurring hormone produced by the pineal gland and structurally related to serotonin. Physiologically, melatonin secretion increases with the onset of darkness, peaks between 2 and 4 am and decreases during the second half of the night. Melatonin is associated with the control of circadian rhythms and synchronization with the light-dark cycle. It is also associated with hypnotic energy and an increased tendency to sleep.

Recommended Dosage:
