Evening Primrose Oil is one of the few natural sources of a polyunsaturated fatty acid called G-Linoleic Acid (GLA).
GLA is the precursor of a particularly important prostaglandin PGE1, which is involved in a variety of important biological functions.
Although the body can produce GLA from linoleic acid (the Omega 6 fatty acid found in vegetable oils) this conversion is sometimes slowed down or even completely inhibited.
