In addition, they help the gut to synthesize certain vitamins such as Vitamin B12 and B6.
The prebiotic inulin is an oligosaccharide, i.e. fibres that are not digested but contribute to the growth of probiotics and the health of the gut and its flora. In other words, they are the “food” of probiotics.
